This unit is organized around the theme of school in China. Students will learn vocabulary and sentence patterns related to a day at an elementary school in China, and will learn about how Chinese schools are similar to and different from American schools.
A draft unit plan is shared here, with additional notes for parents. These plans will change as needed to meet students' needs.

By the end of the unit, students will be able to give a short self-introduction in Chinese
By the end of the unit, students will be able to use Chinese to say whether they like or dislike something
Culture objectives:
By the end of the unit, students will be able to describe three ways in which Chinese schools are the same as American schools, and three ways in which they are different
Additional objectives:
By the end of the unit, students will be able to name one way in which the Chinese language differs from English
By the end of the unit, students will have experienced the benefit of practicing a language skill in order to become more proficient in it
